Family Adventures
In Aspen, adventure is a dish best served family style. Here, if your days with the kids ever repeat themselves, it’s a decision made in the name of fun. Otherwise, each new day is greeted with a wealth of options that go beyond skiing and snowboarding—all of which can be arranged by our hotel Concierges. Ice skating is just a stone’s throw from the Nell.
Tubing at Elk Camp on Snowmass Mountain runs through the end of ski season, with extended hours over holidays and at night during
ULLR Nights each Friday night.
Families with children aged 2 - 6 years old should be sure to check out the brand new Hideout at Buttermilk Mountain for hassle-free child care, mountain adventure and ski school programs. The Treehouse Adventure Center at Snowmass is a wonderland for kids aged 8 weeks to 4 years old, offering Colorado-themed play rooms and supervised activities during the winter season. Strap on cross-country skis or snowshoes and explore over 80 kilometers of groomed trails throughout the Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System. For the more ambitious clan, a guided backcountry tour is a great way to experience solitude’s finer advantages. If incorporating horsepower is more your family’s speed, snowmobile tours are a high-octane way to enjoy panoramic views of the Maroon Bells, Independence Pass and the White River National Forest, as well as exploring a historic ghost town.
