THE LITTLE NELL BRINGS EVEN MORE ADVENTURE TO ASPEN
New Cowboy Camp 101 and Hand-Crafted Wooden Fly Fishing Boat Offer One-of-a-Kind Experiences
Aspen, Colorado (May, 2012) – The Little Nell has made it even easier to enjoy the natural beauty of Aspen with enhanced outdoor adventures, the best equipment possible and the legendary service for which the hotel is known.
“People come to Colorado to experience the mountains, but many are unprepared to face the outdoors alone or simply don't want to lug all the necessary gear on the plane,” explained Little Nell Hotel Manager Anneke Scholten. “That’s why we launched The Little Nell Adventures, to help guests plan customized adventures like yoga atop Aspen Mountain, helicopter fly fishing trips to private ranches, stand up paddling, cycling and more.”
Tucked at the base of Aspen Mountain, The Little Nell thrives as a center of activity and relaxation where visitors can recharge and reenergize. The Nell’s Adventure Shop serves as the hub for planning a perfect activity.
The Little Nell’s new “Cowboy Camp 101” teaches the art of backcountry living from starting a fire to catching a fish. Guests spend a day riding on horseback to the beautiful Snowmass Lake, where they learn how to fish and even how to clean/cook their catch. At camp, they can simply relax as a gourmet meal from The Little Nell kitchen is prepared before drifting off to sleep in their tent. The next morning after a hearty breakfast, guests leave camp for the ride back to civilization and five star accommodations at The Little Nell.
The Little Nell’s biking program continues to evolve, with the addition of an exclusive fleet of Orbea road, mountain and cruiser bicycles made in the Basque Country of Spain. The bikes are outfitted with a GPS unit pre-loaded with some of Aspen’s top rides so no rider loses their way, or private instruction can be arranged with the hotel’s pro cyclist. Custom bicycle fitting, nutrition consultation and performance training are also available.
For the first full season, The Little Nell will offer fly fishing float trips along the scenic Roaring Fork River in a hand-crafted wooden boat. Other fly fishing options includes women’s clinics, trophy trips on private ranch land or even kids’ clinics.
All Little Nell Adventures may be accompanied by gourmet lunches packed by the hotel’s executive chef, with wines paired by the master sommelier. Additionally, some trout caught during fly fishing excursions may be prepared in the great outdoors by the chef, or served to anglers that evening in Montagna Restaurant at The Little Nell.
